What is SENTRE Discovery, and why does it come first?
SENTRE Discovery is a no-obligation fit and integration review. We map your CUI contracts, systems and processes, show how SENTRE plugs into them, and recommend where your enclave should sit: ITG’s secure facility or your own secure room. It is not a gap assessment of your current environment.
No two federal contractors operate the same way. Your contract mix, CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) flows, team structure and systems are your own, and an enclave that ignores them creates documentation gaps, workflow friction and assessment risk. Discovery surfaces these realities before any configuration begins, so the enclave reflects how your organization actually works.
Discovery ends with a written fit and integration report and, if SENTRE fits, a proposal with an implementation timeline and cost. The report also shows how responsibilities would be split, using the Shared Responsibility Matrix: which requirements ITG, your team or both are responsible for. If SENTRE is not the right fit, the report says so, and it names the areas where another approach would serve you better.

What do you receive?
Out-of-the-Box Alignments
Areas where SENTRE’s standard configuration already supports your workflows and processes, with no modification required.
Required Configurations
The workflow and role configurations needed to tailor SENTRE to your contract structures, CUI flows and operating patterns.
Your Share of the Work
The procedural steps your team takes alongside SENTRE’s technical controls, and the requirements the Shared Responsibility Matrix assigns to your team or to both.
Placement Recommendation
Whether your enclave should sit in ITG’s secure facility, inside the scope of ITG’s C3PAO assessment, or in your own secure room, and why.
Implementation Timeline and Cost
A proposal with an implementation timeline and cost, based on what Discovery found in your organization rather than on a generic estimate.
Written Fit and Integration Report
All findings in writing, for your team to review and verify, including any area where SENTRE is not the right fit.
How does Discovery work?
1
Initial Consultation
A call about your contract portfolio, how you handle CUI today and when your DoW (DoD) contracts require evidence.
2
Staff Interviews
Structured sessions with your executive, contracts, finance, IT and operations teams.
3
Fit & Integration Report
We establish how SENTRE maps to your business workflows and where the enclave should sit.
4
Proposal
Implementation timeline and cost, based on the report.
5
Implementation Decision
Review the report with your team and confirm scope before implementation begins.
If SENTRE Isn’t the Right Fit
If SENTRE is not the right fit for your organization, we will tell you before you commit. If what you need is advisory support, such as a gap assessment against NIST SP 800-171, ITG’s consulting team can help, whichever solution you choose in the end. ITG consulting →
How does Discovery decide where your enclave should sit?
Discovery weighs your sites, your contracts and the people who handle CUI, then recommends one of two placements: ITG’s secure facility, which is inside the scope of ITG’s own C3PAO assessment, or your own secure room. The report explains the reasons, so your team can check them.
The placement changes where the hardware sits, not who owns it. In both cases the server stack, the software licenses and the CUI are yours, and ITG installs and manages the enclave, with remote support when it sits in your room.
Your own secure room suits organizations that already have a controlled space and staff on site to work with ITG during installation. ITG’s secure facility suits organizations that would rather not build or certify a room of their own. Discovery looks at which fits your operations; it does not assume either answer, and the recommendation is written into the report.
SENTRE Discovery FAQs
Is Discovery a gap assessment?
No. Discovery reviews how SENTRE fits your contracts, systems and processes, and where your enclave should sit. It does not score your current environment against NIST SP 800-171. If you need that, ITG’s consulting team offers gap assessments as a separate service, independent of which solution you choose.
Is there any obligation?
No. Discovery is a no-obligation review. You decide whether to proceed after your team has read the written fit and integration report and the proposal. If the report shows SENTRE is not the right fit, it says so plainly, and you keep the findings either way.
Who should take part?
Leadership, contracts and finance, IT and security, and the operations staff who will use SENTRE daily. Sessions are short and focused, so each team spends only the time its part needs, and the schedule follows your operational priorities rather than ours. Nobody needs to prepare a presentation.
What should we prepare?
A list of the contracts that involve CUI, a contact in each of the teams above, and any compliance documentation you already have, such as a System Security Plan. We confirm exactly what helps when the first call is booked, so nobody prepares material that will not be used.
Do you need access to our CUI?
No. Discovery works from interviews and process descriptions. We discuss where CUI originates and how it flows through your organization without needing access to the CUI itself, and nothing is installed on your systems during Discovery. Your CUI stays exactly where it is today.
Where should our enclave sit?
That is one of the questions Discovery answers. SENTRE can sit in ITG’s secure facility, inside the scope of ITG’s own C3PAO assessment, or in your own secure room. The report recommends one, based on your sites, contracts and staff, and explains why.
What happens after Discovery?
If SENTRE fits, you receive a proposal with an implementation timeline and cost. Once you confirm scope, implementation starts with Phase 1, workflow configuration, and ITG installs and configures the managed CUI enclave in five phases, trains your team and manages the enclave from go-live.
See how SENTRE fits your operations, and where your enclave should sit, before you commit to anything.
